Educational Shape Sorter Senior
Educational Shape Sorter Senior
Educational Shape Sorter Senior has 12 different shapes and colour combinations to identify and place the right colour and shape in the right slot. This is an appropriate toy for your little one, as the next step to the identification of basic colours and shapes. Your little one will be able to learn the names of the shapes as learn to sort them right.
Sorting and putting things in groups is an important thinking skill. Sorting can be about colours, shapes, and sizes. When kids learn to sort, they are also figuring out how things are alike or different, this helps them notice patterns and put things in order. Doing this helps your child learn about colours first, then sizes and shapes.
They enhance cognitive skills by encouraging categorization based on attributes like colour, shape, size, or type, fostering logical thinking and problem-solving. Through moving small objects, kids also improve their fine motor skills, using their fingers and hands to grasp and arrange items. Visual discrimination is honed as children differentiate between characteristics, contributing to the development of visual perception and attention to detail. Sorting involves mathematical concepts such as counting and classifying, laying the foundation for mathematical understanding. Language development is promoted as children describe and communicate about object attributes during sorting activities, expanding their vocabulary. Group sorting activities enhance social skills, encouraging collaboration and teamwork. Problem-solving skills are developed as children overcome challenges and can sort the toys. These activities also prepare children for school by introducing important early education skills.
Practical & Contextual Insights
Practical & Contextual Insights
We gave our daughter tomatoes, and she liked them. Whenever we opened the fridge, she rushed to the kitchen and could pick out a red tomato from all the different ones or even from other red veggies like capsicum or cherries. It's like a sorting game – she knows which ones are red and can even spot the tomato's shape. Even though she can't say the colour or name yet, she can identify it correctly. Learning to sort and group things helps her remember. First, it's good to teach the little ones about colours when the multi-colored objects have the same shape. Once they know colours, you can move on to sizes, still using the same shaped underlying objects. And thereafter introduce them to names of the shapes as well so that the language learning process begins.
